By chance, she comes across a flyer for a match making service and gives it a go. She is immediately matched but to her surprise, it's not on a date with a man but a marriage to an alien Prince! Kreoz' planet is experiencing unrest over his lack of ascension to the throne which he can't do until he marries. When Maya arrives, he immediately knows she's the one female in the world for him. Too cookie-cutter, boring. Its only been a couple of days since I read it & I barely remember anything other than I was glad when it was over. I loved the most recent one from these two authors - Mate of the Beast & really hope more of that style appear but this one was a bust.
This was a quick, enjoyable read. There weren't that many emotions involved in it, and for that reason I wished that we would have seen Maya interact with her people once she became queen. I would have especially liked to see her help those who had been injured in the last rebel bombing. I borrowed this book through the Unlimited program.
I love a HLE just as much as anyone but this book ended so abruptly with no story building the relationship between the two main characters. After great sex she was in love and all the troubles of the kingdom never mentioned again. Please write another story and add all the missing pieces that this one lacked.
Being the king isn't all it's cracked up to be. Especially if you're a huge bright pink dude trying to govern a planet full of rebels and revolutionaries. And they are rebelling because you haven't mated yet and technically can't govern until you do. And your annoying brother orders you a non-refundable, non-returnable mail-order bride from Earth. Such is Prince Kreoz of Xelris' unenviable situation when Maya, said mail-order bride, steps off the space ship in front of him and turns his world upside-down. Beautiful human female? Check. Love at first sight? Check. Oops, wait a minute. Love at first sight for HIM, check. For Maya, who really just wanted a little Valentine's Day romance (for once!), not so much. She's got to stay for a one-year minimum, but she's determined to get home ASAP. But Kreoz is equally determined that she will stay, and the contest of wills, (and seduction) is on. The story is very short, pretty generic, well-written, decently edited, and fairly entertaining.

Bit sweet, bit naughty, it was a great fat read. I loved it but I wish that it was longer! ^_^
